This is a narrow stretch of beach on the coastline of Maharashtra located 6 kilometers south of Malvan. The main attraction here is the clear waters of the beach and the beautiful sceneries. If you are lucky to visit the beach on a clear day, you will be able to sea the seabed from such a depth too. The Sindhudurg built in the 17th century and the Padmagarh are the two Sea fortresses which are also major attractions here. Apart from these, staying at the MTDC sea side cottages and tasting authentic Konkani cuisine are also a must here.
This fort is situated on a rocky island known as Kurte barely a kilometer from Malvan. This fort was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Mahraj in the 17th Century when all his trials to win the Janjira Fortress proved to be useless. The main building material was sand that too was brought down from Gujarat. The main strength of this well- preserved fort are the thousands of kilograms of iron used here. The architect under whom the construction took place was known as Hiroji Indulkar and the king also took the advice of hundreds of Portugese experts whom he had invited to his court. A number of people were put to work round the clock for three long years to build this fort. The most attractive feature of this monument is the stretch of zig- zag walls and the pillars and bastions. Inside the fort still live twenty- thirty hereditary Hindu- Muslim families and there are also a number of temples inside. The most important out of all these is the temple where you will find the painting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Mahraj without a moustache. This painting is unique and is not found anywhere else in the world. Nearby this fort, you will also see the Padamgad Fort which is now in ruins.
The Rock garden is located between Capitol Complex and Sukhna Lake. It is filled with man-made interlinked waterfalls and numerous different models that have been made of waste and scraps and different sorts of squanders like glasses, bangles, jugs, tiles, clay pots, sinks, electrical waste, etc which are displayed on walled paths. The beautiful nursery is visited by more than 5,000 individuals every day, with more than 12 million guests since its inception. Nek Chand was offered a salary, a title Sub-Divisional Engineer, Rock Garden, and 50 workers so that he could focus full-time on his work. It showed up on an Indian stamp in 1983. The Rock Garden is still made out of reused materials. At the point when Chand left the nation on an lecture visit in 1996, the city pulled back its subsidizing, and vandals assaulted the recreation center. The Rock Garden Society took control over the organization and upkeep of this interesting visionary environment.
After checking in, we got fresh and headed straight to the nearby restaurant, Darya Sarang, for lunch as we were starving. The beach view from this restaurant is just incredible. There are swings here too, so exciting isn't it?I fell in love with this beach when I saw it. And the homestay in front of the beach was a massive bonus. The azure waters, silence, empty beach, no hustlers trying to sell you stuff was like a cherry on the cake. In the afternoon, the water looked more bright and pretty. So after relaxing a bit and clicking a thousand pictures on the beach we headed to the Sindhudurg Fort for some underwater adventures. Yayyyy!
We reached kudal station at around 12:00 Pm. We had planned to take a bus to reach Devbag but it was a little too far so we took a "tam tam"(a kind of auto rickshaw) and we got a very good deal. The journey was long and it took 2 hours for us to reach our beach resort " swami samarth beach resort". But it was all worth it. The resort was literally touching the beach. It was more like a simple village stay with all the necessary amenities and an awesome view. The rates were very light on our pockets and it was just what we needed. We visited the devbag beach which was touching our resort and it was heaven!! There wasnt a single soul on the beach. It was like our own private beach and it was amazingly clean, which is a rare site. The clear water, peaceful beach and lip smacking authentic malvani sea food what else do you need to unwind. After a nice walk and clicking some pictures we came back to our rooms and took rested for the day.
