Shankarpu'r & Tajpur is located in Purba Medinipur, in the state of West Bengal, India on the shore of Bay of Bengal (near Digha). Tajpur is set between Mandarmani and Shankarpur. Tajpur is 170 km from the state capital Kolkata.
There are a number of bheris or fish-ponds in the area. As a tourist attraction, it is relatively new as there are fewer hotels compared to Digha and Mandarmani. The beach is clean and home to numerous red crabs.
I visited this place on 15th august 2017.
I have started my journey fro kolkata. Took train from Howrah station at 2 pm. Reach digha at 6 pm. you can get reasonable and plenty of hotel there. After check in to hotel I went to spend some time in new digha sea beach. Had some wonderful fish and chicken kabab.
Next day morning I take a toto and started my journey toward Sankarpur and Tajpur. cost -500(You have to negotiate)
Both beaches have less crowd. you will not get many shops there. But you will enjoy the nature a lot.
Back from there by after noon. In evening spend some time in old digha. Had fish fry.You can do shopping a lot there(For girls).
Next day back to home with fishy memories. Haha...
