Top 7 Locations In India You Should Visit To Fulfill Your Bollywood Dreams

The influence of Bollywood in India is prolific. From the clothes that we see on screen, to the dialogues we hear and especially the exotic locations we witness through cinema, each and every thing finds prominence on our Wishlist. Over the years, and after over exploiting the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland, B-Town has finally started absorbing the beauty of Indian cities and hinterlands.

Tripoto brings you a snapshot of a few famous spots from the silver screen where you can just sit back and admire the scenic brilliance.

1. Sukna Reserve Forest

The song ‘Kyon’ from Barfi is not only remembered for its beautiful composition but also for its paramount cinematography which featured the Sukna forest range near the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, close to Siliguri in West Bengal. Sukna Reserve Forest casts a spell on your heart, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

2. Hadimba Devi Temple

Hadimba Devi Temple in Manali, mostly called as the Dhungiri temple, became popular overnight, thanks to the 2013 blockbuster Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. The movie about summer romance and an unforgettable college trek attached a different dimension of belief to this temple, worshipped especially because it houses a block of stone that has imprints of the feet of the Goddess Hadimba.

3. Doraha Sarai Fort

Officially it is the Doraha Sarai Fort but colloquially it is popular as the RDB (Rang De Basanti) fort. It called as the Doraha Fort because of its two double-storied gateway entrances. It is right behind Gurdwara Manji Sahib (in Doraha) about 1km away from National Highway 1. This massive fort is reminiscent of Indian culture and history  right in the middle of lush green fields with a Gurdwara as the backdrop.

4. Munnar

The foot tapping dance number, ‘Kashmir Tu, Main Kanyakumari,’ from Chennai Express has been extensively shot at the Munnar Tea Plantation in Kerala. And like everything which SRK touches turns into gold, this place has become a ‘Must Visit Spot’ for people travelling to Kerala.

5. Dhuandhar Falls

This one is old but when Kareena danced on ‘Raat Ka Nasha’ in this smoke cascade known as Dhuandhar Falls, it was a sight! The Dhuandhar Falls are located on Narmada River in Bhedaghat, Jabalpur district Madhya Pradesh

6. Fatehpur Sikhri

Fatehpur Sikri in Agra can be termed as a ‘Bollywood Favourite,’ when it comes to filming. From Pardes to Jodha Akbar, this Indo-Islamic architectural masterpiece has given Bollywood many blockbusters. The catch of this spot is how the red sandstone buildings lend themselves to the plummeting sun as the rays bounce off the beauty of this ancient architecture .It’s a world within a world.

7. Rann of Kutch

The state of Gujarat is definitely the next big thing in India. Not only because of Narendra Modi but it looks like the hottest destination for Bollywood too! The Rann of Kutch only looks like an inhospitable wasteland, but an array of movies like Kai Po Che, Ram Leela, Goori Tere Pyaar Mein, Lagaan and many more have been shot here!
