As I stepped into the grand lobby of the Cinnamon Grand Colombo, I was immediately struck by the stunning artwork that adorned the walls, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the already impressive atmosphere. The blend of historical and modern elements created a unique and captivating ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable stay. The massive modern chandeliers flowing from the ceiling, plush furnishings, and gleaming marble floors created a sense of grandeur, making it a perfect setting for a luxurious getaway.

Sri Lanka has plenty and more to offer as a destination for luxe travelers. Colombo happens to be the starting point of all the adventures in Sri Lanka and it has a lot to offer.

A Haven of Comfort and Relaxation

My room at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo was a haven of comfort and relaxation. With a balcony offering breathtaking views of the beach, pool, and lush gardens, every element was meticulously designed to provide a serene and rejuvenating experience. The bathtub was a highlight, with its sleek design and ample space to soak and unwind. The plush bedding and crisp linens ensured a restful night's sleep, while the modern amenities and high-tech facilities kept me connected and entertained.There is also a spa which can be experienced at the property for ultimate relaxation and comfort.

A Culinary Journey

One of the standout features of Cinnamon Grand Colombo is its array of dining options. With 12 outlets to choose from, there's something for every palate and craving. My personal favorites were Nuga Gama, where I indulged in authentic Sri Lankan cuisine during a cooking class; Noodles, which served delectable Asian-inspired dishes; and Chutneys, which offered a flavorful Indian food experience. The buffet at Plates was also impressive, with an extensive spread of international cuisine. Food is at the heart of any trip and exploration. Exploring the food at Cinnamon Grand Colombo was almost like a world in itself. There was so much up on offer at the property itself, I did not feel like leaving to try any other restaurant.

Exploring Local Culture

In addition to its impressive dining options, Cinnamon Grand Colombo offers an array of experiences that allow guests to immerse themselves in the local culture. I had the opportunity to join a city excursion that took me to some of Colombo's most iconic landmarks, including a leading Buddhist temple, church, and mosque. The city walk was both informative and fascinating, providing valuable insights into the city's rich history and heritage. Sri Lanka has a historic temples and monuments and everything has a little to see.

A Connected Mall

Another highlight was exploring the connected mall within the hotel complex. With its upscale shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, there's no need to venture far from the hotel to experience the best of Colombo's shopping and dining scene. I did buy some flavoured cashews at the Mall. Cashews grow locally in Sri Lanka and they taste super fresh.

Additional Dining Delights

During my stay, I also had the pleasure of trying out two other dining outlets at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. Cinnamon Red, located on the rooftop, offers finger food and drinks in a lively setting with stunning views of the city. It's the perfect spot to unwind with friends or family after a long day. Cinnamon Lakeside, located within the hotel complex, transforms into a party vibe at night with its lively music and cocktails at ColomBar.

My stay at Cinnamon Grand Colombo was nothing short of exceptional. From its stunning lobby to its luxurious rooms, exceptional dining options, and range of experiences, this hotel truly offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking for relaxation, adventure, or simply a taste of local culture, Cinnamon Grand Colombo is an excellent choice. With its prime location in the heart of Colombo and its commitment to providing an unforgettable experience, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka.
