Hi! I've been to Mcleodanj at least 4-5 times by now and it still remains one of the places i cant stop visiting enough. For an entire travel plan of 3 days, check out my Mcleodganj trip here. https://www.tripoto.com/trip/i-trekked-i-fell-i-skidded-and-i-shot-some-of-the-best-photos-in-triund-5b125bf8a7e9c Try checking hotels and homestays in Dharamkot instead of the main town for those will be cheaper. They're also about a kilometer away from the city so if you're into short hikes, you wont mind taking a short walk upto your place of stay. Anything close to Rs 8000-Rs 9000 should make your trip comfortable and fun filled. If you want to avoid paying a lot of money at restaurants, try some of the smaller food stalls on the road in the main square. For shopping, you should skirt the entire main square and back looking for the best deals and finally pick from the place where you get your souvenir the cheapest. You can also try visiting The Tibet Museum on the main chowk itself for some original handcrafts, thangkas, handbags and t shirts. If that doesnt work either, go further down the town and you'll come across some little shops where things are being tailored by the locals themselves. These aren't retail shops and you can buy things directly from here at slightly cheaper prices. Paragliding at Bir Billing is just a bike ride away although you should tie up with someone beforehand and book yourself a spot. The stretch also has some great views of the valley below, lovely winding roads with little monasteries in Bir and also small patches of tea gardens.

Hi Gagan, I guess for 4 people, you can easily do this trip within a budget of 8 to 10 K. Mcleod is not expensive at all, and you'll find good places to eat as well. You can check out my Mcleod blog here: https://www.tripoto.com/trip/mcleodganj-the-land-of-lamas-1822
