For this kind of region there are two types of travel time . One is ICE SEASON & another one is FLOWERING SEASON . So it's totally depends on you . For ice the best time is JAN to FEB & for flowering season APR to MAY . And for your concern I think June is not kinda good season for traveling around Hilly areas . Cause as far as I know , it's basically a rainy season and flood can happen in any time , plus the view is generally busted during rainy season. I hope this will solve your question 🙂

Spiti Valley is good to visit throughout the year. If you want to go there for the cold, the snow and the vibes, you could go there in the month of January. Summer time/Monsoon is good too. It all depends on how you view it and where you'll be experiencing. Personally, I would go there for the cold.

Visit after mid June as Rohtang and Kunzum pass both will open till then. June and July are the peak and best months to visit Spiti Valley from Manali.

You can visit spiti valley during two seasons first June to October. and then December to February . However Dec. to February will be very harsh because temperature out there will below freezing point and you also cannot go via Manali route during that time as roads will remain close. So first week of June is better option via Manali route. However you can travel across spiti valley through Shimla route anytime except when there is heavy snowfall.

The best time to visit Spiti largely depends on the route you wish to take. While one is via Manali: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Gramphu – Chattru – Kunzum Pass – Kaza (Spiti Valley); the other one via Shimla – Kinnaur Valley as Shimla – Kinnaur – Nako – Sumdo (Spiti Valley) – Tabo – Kaza. Mid – May to mid – July: This is the real peak season in Spiti when the valley welcome hordes of tourists who wish to get respite from city heat. Most of the road links by the mid-June get opened and thus sightseeing in and around Spiti is possible. All the hotel also now offer complete facilities. A visit to Chandra tal can also be made. Due to the melting of the snow, you might have to drive on water crossings, thus try to arrive at your destination in the afternoon.
