You can try somewhere close to the mountains in either Himachal or Uttarakhan. My personal recommendation for a solo trip would be Mcleodganj and Dharamshala, the town has a very warm vibe.

You could go for mcleodganj or triund trek with fellow travellers. You could easily find other travellers around the way. Dharamshala is next to mcleodganj and trust me dharamshala is very pretty place to roam around. Kasol and tosh could be another option for you. If you are i to smikers than most of the cafes are filled with travellers with smokers. You could enjoy the hippie environment there. I will be writing my trip for both the places in coming days. If you like you could check it.

Go to Singla chitkul via narkanda from chandigarh. Or you can go from delhi and you can also explore the Xanadu cafe before shimla and then cover Kasauli.

Himachal can seem inexhaustible. The state has so much to offer. From the desert like endless stretches of naked shining mountains in Spiti and Lahaul, to the freshness of the state's capital, the fame of Manali, Rohtang pass, and adjacent Kasol, Parvati valley to the Western mystic town of McLeid Ganj, famous for the Indian home if the Dalai Lama to the tall dense trees of Dalhousie, holy places like Mqnikaran etc, the flowers in Chambal, world class paragliding providing in Palampur, this state is simply remarkable for what it has to offer. I have mentioned these so that you can pick according to your liking. If you're selling a mystical experience, long trees in Lahaul Spiti b(you need time for that), if adventure - go for Manali where you can avail paragliding experience as well though the capital of the sport, and also the venue for world championship is Bir-Billing, near Palampur, an hour's drive from Dharamsala. Manali, Kasol, Parvati valley are all esp good for the trippers and the trekkers. Dalhousie is good for a quiet holiday while Dharamsala/McLeod is perfect if you're looking for either commercial spiritualism or genuine ( Vipassana meditation center is located in Dharamkot with Tushita meditation center next door along with numerous Yoga and alternative healing sessions offered all around in this capital of spirituality, given the Divine Grace if the Dalai Lama. In addition you have Triund, a six to eight km amazing and heavenly stretch to trek with camping facility available at the top. take your pick
