During my Ladakh trip, I decided to try a yak safari, and it was a very calm and unique experience. I did the yak safari in Nubra Valley, near Diskit and Hunder, which is the most common place for this activity. The open land, mountains, and quiet surroundings made the ride very peaceful. I also noticed that in some areas of the Changthang region, yak safaris are available, but they are less common.
I visited Ladakh during the summer season, from May to September, which I found to be the best time. I chose the morning hours, when the weather was cool and comfortable, and the yaks were relaxed. Winter is not suitable for yak safari due to heavy cold and snowfall.
