I think you should consider visiting Rajasthan (Example: Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur) and Gujrat for that.

Meghalaya , Kerala , goa and Coorg are the places to visit in monsoon in India. Give Priority to Coorg if you like greenery and waterfalls.

Kerala, it rain almost everyday over there. with the smell if wet mud and scorpion near the sea shore. it the perfect place to be during rainy season.

If its rain and nature that you want...Make it to Chikmagalur, there one resort called Eagle eye resort located at the exact center of a mountain, the view from there is amazing... Lush green Western Ghats... From there you can go towards Coorg or towards Agumbae according to your wish... While both are good locations...
