Yes it is possible if you love walking. I did it. You need to hire only for Tiger hill and Rock garden. So look for shared taxis but its rare. I will soon post about my trip.

If you mean the sight seeing around Darjeeling, then you could do on sharing vehicles with other tourists, which can easily be arranged from the place you stay.

Hello there. It is possible to explore Darjeeling within the budget of 2500-3000 provided you are ready to make some compromises. Example..Take a bus from Siliguri rather than taking a Taxi. the bus will cost half of what you will be paying to the cab. On reaching Darjeeling find a hotel in one of the several lanes near Mall road. Those hotels are considerably cheaper although you won't get the view. Everything that is worth visiting can be done in one day itself. So you can make it a short 2 days trip. Also, the food is available at very reasonable prices. Again for the return journey take the bus. Buses to Siliguri and NJP station are available from 7 in the morning till 3 in the evening. Hope this helps. Happy Travelling!

Yes it is completely possible. Hotels are cheap in Darjeeling. Donot book online. Second costly thing where you can save money is by travelling in shared taxis. Food is also cheap around Darjeeling of you avoid eating in fancy restaurants. If you save enough you can also have a fine breakfast at Keventers.

It's completely depends on how many people you are going and how many days you will stay there.. If you going via New Jalpaiguri Railway station (NJP) then, take share taxis (Cost will be 250/- to 300/- per head) Book your hotels through MMT or OYO(Cost will be 1000/- to 1300/- per day) For side seen 1day book Toy Train ticket (Book it via IRCTC) and another day take Taxis (Will cost 3500/- for a day) so if you are going with 2-3 persons, then it'll possible to complete your tour with in 2500/- to 3000/-
