Depending on budget and whether you are beginner or advanced. If beginner then go for nikon d5300, d5600 If advanced then canon are good.

Start from the Manual mode of your phone camera. Learn the basics about ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture, Exposure etc and if you really want to learn more of photography and to have an upgrade over the mobile camera get a basic crop sensor DSLR like Nikon D3400 (Latest model D3500) or Canon 1300D (Latest model 1500D) with 18-105mm or 18-140mm lense as it will cover wide angle to a decent zoom range. it may cost you around 40k for both Body and Lense put together. Or if want to go with the trend get a mirror less camera like Sony Alpha 5100 or 6000 or similar camera from Canon. But cost will be comparatively high than DSLR and start learning.

Camera is a very wide and deep subject. If you want for travel photography then there are lots and lots of options. Also keep in mind the weight and size of camera, it plays important role while you are traveling. Mirrorless dslr are generally smaller than typical dslr. If money and size isn't your concern than I would suggest to go for full frame mirrorless camera from Sony or panasonic. Nikon and Canon are new to mirrorless tech. Then if weight and size is your concern than go for digital point and shoot camera from Sony, fujifil, panasonic, etc. They are compact, easy to carry. But you have to sacrifice a bit in quality, zoom etc. Also consider gopro and other action cameras, they are extremely compact, weather proof good for adventure sports, but have limited functionality and battery life. Hence, you first will have to choose which type of camera you are looking for, then you can start looking for suitable models and compare them. Let me know if you want any further help with choosing models once you choose which type of camera you want.

Canon 80D with Lens type differs from what type of photography you a aiming to do is best option but personally I suggest to go for sony alpha series (Sony alpha6400 or Sony alpha6500) with lens setup it will slight on expensive side but it is compact and easy to use and more importantly its sony's latest mirror less technology with built in image stabilizer makes things easy for on the go shooting.

Personally, I believe there is no such specific gadgets nowdays. the phones are also coming with good quality camera sensors. Though, you want to buy a camera, please make sure that you have zoom lens (min. 200mm) & prime lens.
