Hi Sudeep, I think the best option in april mau for ypu would be Manali-Kasol-Tosh in Himachal Pradesh. It has very good option for trekking also and also takes care that you dont have to shell out large from your pockets. Even if you wanna do some extensive tracks, then Manali has plenty to offer with tracking options to Hampta pass, Chandratal, etc. Hope this helps you.

I know. i did few in the past like Hampta Pass, Bhrigu lake n Hatu peak Shimla
Make it challenging. Do the stok Kangri expedition from leh. Take a state bus from Leh to travel to Hanle. The journey is of 7-8 hours through mountainous terrains. stargazing awaits you there. Manali to Leh on a cycle, if you are physically resilient and up for it. Bhrigu lake trek or hampta pass trek from Manali

Bro I was in Leh and Hanle in the last week of August.
Kashmir, you'll find cheap stays (go for Zostel personal suggestion) and if you're traveling on small budget take train till Jammu tavi and then shared cab(It took me 1050 rs to reach Srinagar from Mumbai). and traveling is so convenient in the town. else go for Himachal and when you travel solo you can hitchhike easily (meet random people hear there stories). you'll love it... go solo
