Hi Jay, 40k is a good budget for an international trip, and perfect to explore nearby South East Asian countries for about 5-7 days including flights.You may check out Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar. You can easily reach Bhutan and Nepal by road, thereby significantly reducing travel cost. For the rest, you will have to take flights (prices will range from Rs 12k-23k) however, most of these places are affordable and offer amazing budget options, so you can easily explore these countries under 40K. You can plan for UAE and visit Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al ain . if you are planning during winters...sand dunes will attract you with various activities too.
