From where I can book houseboat trip at Alleppey,as I am staying in hotel and interested in day cruise. I have seen there are day cruises which provide a day tour of backwater. Don't want to spend much on Houseboats,it should be budget friendly.

Don’t take house boat . It’s useless . You will be taken just 3-4 hrs ride and then parked near bank of the back water . Better take any nice resort , it will have complimentary 1 hr backwater ride . Aveda and lake canopy are good options

Approach boats provided by Govt of Kerala. which will take a trip around 4 hours which is really cheap
