We visited Sikkim 10 years back. Places like Lachen on the way to Gurudongmar Lake was quite underdeveloped back then. We stayed at our very helpful driver's home and had a lovely dinner with his family.

Yes i tried dalmakhani n roti in dharamshala at around 2am.i didn’t get any transport and stay to reach my hostel in mcleodganj at midnight but one local guy helped me to stay at his place and even cooked for us.

Definitely yes! When I went to Malvan, Maharashtra I had to check out early from a hostel. Started roaming around and found an interesting house with an unique architecture. I started clicking photos of the house. Meantime one of the house mate saw me and offered lunch out of nowhere. It was strange, weird but also an unforgettable experience. They were a great family. Bless them:)
