Start your journey by train from Kerala till Siliguri railway station. From there you can get a bus or private cabs whatever suits you and you can continue to dargeeling and gangtok.

Hey I would suggest you take train till Kolkata and from there flight to guwahati it will save time and money both as flight from kolkata to guwahati very cheap under 1500 INR and then venture into the beautiful state of assam or meghalaya.
