I will explain a little bit. For sure go to Bangalore. You can book a city tour package or can travel by your own (bus service is good enough). Few places I went in Bangalore were Visweswariah Industrial & Technological Museum, Lalbagh Botanical Gardens (you can go at the time of Lalbagh flower festival), ISKCON temple, Bangalore Palace (must to visit, and while the museum entry price is a bit high, it worth your money), Tipu's Summer Palace, Dodda Ganapathi Temple, Bull Temple. Beside these take out around 20 minutes to see the Vidhan Sabha and High Court. If you love, you can go for a trekking trail (of about 6km) from Konala Doddi to Bilikal Betta. Konala Doddi is about 60km from the city. Another amazing place is Skandagiri hills. I don't know of now when I went it took 4hrs to rich the top of the hill from the base. While it is just 8kms you have to cross a really hilly terrain. There is Papagni temple at the base of the hill and at the top is a ruined Kalavara Fortress. If you have never done a night trekking, this is the place you may start and enjoy the sunrise. However, avoid weekends, there will be an extra crowd of local people. From Bangalore you can go for a day long trip to Belur, Halebidu and Shrabon-Belegola. Beside Bangalore must places are-
Coorg (2 day trip from Bangalore by Karnataka tourism). Coorg is a place which you may want to stay for more than 2 days. Then you may opt either for cab or ksrtc bus service or private bus service from bangalore. Coorg has 3 wildlife sanctuaries- Talacauvery, Pushpagiri and Brahmagiri and a national park- Nagerhole. Visit according to your time in hand. And Enjoy Coffee! Chikmagalur, Bandipur National Park , Hampi
Mysore and Udupi also worth your visit.
