Ooty just have mainly 6-7 place to visit...and rest are place are around ooty... so one and half day for ooty and then do sote seeing in coonoor.. and there are some lake around 50-70km away from ooty.. u can visit there also

Avalanche lake , emerald lake , pykara falls , pine tree forest , botanical garden , tea factory , shooting point and dodabetta peak. Almost all of these places can be covered in 2 days. toy train takes you to coonoor and back.

Emerald Lake is a must visit, it's beautiful , less explored and serene. Avalanche ( could consider kayaking there) , Botanical Garden, Chocolate Factory, if fond of tea, can visit the tea museum, Dolphin's Nose View point for great picturesque views.
