Don't restrict yourself to just Pondicherry if you have more number of days. Pondicherry can be done in 2 to 3 days and hence you can also try visiting Mahabalipuram which is famous for Shore temple and many ruins of ancient time. If you love Architecture visit the temples of Chidambaram Thanjavur and Kumbakonam.

Pondicherry is more than just places. it is experiences.. sunrises are beautiful, auroville and if you have more time you must visit pichavaram mangrove forest

Pondi is really amazing to visit during this season where it's cold! 1. you can visit Auroville. Ensure you enquire them about letting you inside the golden monument. if you take prior permission, you will be allowed to get inside. 2. Paradise beach. it's an amazing beach. You will definitely have fun visiting there. They take you off the island. except that the food or water there is too costly
3. Serenity beach- This is also a beautiful one to watch the sunset or the sunrise. You have a beautiful view here. 4. Rock beach- Again a best beach for the nature lovers, as it has a very crowded place who sit there to watch the sunset. Beautiful here to witness one ! 5. La dupleix - This is a resort. But you have one of the best restaurants! Though eating there seems expensive, it's a one time fun to taste and enjoy the decorum of the restaurant! Taste is amazing and also you have live music. It's great to be here. Lastly, try spending less time to cover these places so you can cover other places.
