Ranthambore is located at in the Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan. Ranthambhore is known for its large tiger population. It was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1973. Tigers can be easily spotted even in the daytime. The best times for tiger sightings at Ranthambhore National Park are deemed to be in November and May. Other animals include the Indian leopard, nilgai, wild boar, sambar, striped hyena, sloth bear, southern plains gray langur, rhesus macaque, mugger crocodile and chital. Rnthambore fort is situated in Sawai Madhopur area of Rajasthan. This fort was used to be the residence of former king of Sawai madhopur. This place is famous for two things mainly first is the Ranthambore national park where you can see some of the 1411 tigers left in India, and second thing is Lord Ganesha's temple which is situated at the Ranthambore fort and a-lot of devotees come here every year to have his blessings.
