The closest you can get to The Valley of Flowers by road is Govind Ghat. This requires around an 11 hour drive to Joshimath from Dehradun, then another one hour to Govindghat. From Govindghat, it is a 13-kilometer (8.1 miles) trek along a steep, narrow, but well defined mountain trail to base camp at Ghangaria. This will take between 4 and 8 hours. From Ghangaria, another 3 km trek leads to the valley.

How to reach Valley Of Flower (Trek Information) The Valley of Flower National park located at an altitude of 3352 to 3658 meters above the sea level which is in the district of Chamoli, of state Uttarakhand. Govindghat is the pilgrimage hamlet beyond Joshimath which is 285 km far away from the nearest Jolly Grant Airport.Govindghat is the last motorable road and it is the place from where the trek starts for both Hemkund Sahib & Valley of Flower. To reach Valley of flower you have to trek a total 17 km from Govindghat to Valley of Flower. During your trek, at the distance of 4 km, you will first reach the Pulana Village. You can also take any cab/vehicle to reach this village which reduces the distance of the trek and this is the last point where the vehicle can come. After this village, the trek is full of nature’s beauty and after 3 km you’ll reach Bhundar Village. Now you have to trek 7 km to reach Ghangariya village which is the base camp for all the tourists and Sikh devotees. This is the place where you can stay in basic budget hotels, with limited facilities. In winters this region is prone to heavy snowfall that’s why this place is closed from November to April. BEST TIME TO VISIT:- The Valley of Flowers is only open from month of June until the beginning of October, as it's covered in snow the rest of the year. The best time to visit is from mid July to mid August, when the flowers are in full bloom after the first monsoon rain. HOW TO REACH:- 1- Reach Delhi to Haridwar. You can reach Haridwar from Delhi using Private taxi, AC Volvo bus, train or by air. To reach by air you need to reach up to Dehradun airport first and then drive to Haridwar. 2- Haridwar to Auli / Joshimath / Govindghat. From Haridwar you need to drive to Auli / Joshimath / Govindghat. You can stay at any of these places as they are nearby. Total distance 275kms – 300 kms time taken will be 10-12 hours. 3- Auli / Joshimath / Govindghat to Ghangaria. You need to first drive to Govindghat if you are not staying there. From Govindghat drive to Pulna Village for 4 kms in separate vehicle, your vehicle is not allowed. From Pulna its a moderate trek to Ghangaria for 10 kms. You can get Helicopter or Pony or Porters from Govindghat to Ghangaria. 4-Ghangaria to Valley of flowers and back to Ghangaria. Full day trek of 10- 20 kms depending upon how deep you go. Start early to explore deepest parts of the valley of flowers. You need to be back by 5 pm as per forest department rules.

Reach Dehradun Or Haridwar by Train then by public transport bus towards Badrinath.. nd reach at Gobind ghat. from here by trek you can visit Valley of flowers
