Hi Surabhi!! I hope you are doing good. Jumping straight to the topic. I would like to advice you to book a hotel/home stays/camps in advance, because it's a tropical place, you never know About the rain. So better to confirm your stay. Then we come on the travelling part. You better opt for a renting car. It will cost you around 2400/day. If you are looking around for renting a scooty or a bike you will get it on northeasttravel.com, it's pretty much cheaper. If I talk about roaming around Shillong and adjacent places, your planned days are enough. Place names: 1) Umiam lake 2) Shillong View point 3) Mawsynram 4) Mawlyngong 5) Cherrapunji 6) Living double decker root bridge 7) Dawki {Indo-Bangla Border} Please follow me if you like the answer. Please do msg me for more queries.

You have chosen a best place to visit. there are lots of places. i would suggest while going to Meghalaya you better skip Shillong and go further to Cherrapunji and there you can visit Eco Park, Caves, Double decker living root bridge, Wie Sawdong Tripple waterfall, and then you can go to another day to Dawki and Shneongpdeng and there you can stay in camp near beautiful Crystal clear river and next day you can travel to the beautiful Krangsuri fall & one more thing you can visit while towards dawki the cleanest village in Asia And single decker living root bridge. you will fall in love with these places. #happyroaming

Hi, you can take a flight till Guwahati and then take a shared cab to Shillong(easily available outside the airport) at the rate of 500INR or you can hire a private cab which will cost around 2k. Guwahati to Shillong is a 3hours journey or earlier if you don't face any traffic. For staying you will have multiple options of hotels/ homestays and guesthouses, try to book in advance though. You can invest one or 2 days for local sightseeing- multiple places like Laitlum canyon, golflink, elephant falls, Ward's lake, cathedral church; or you can do cafe hopping or explore the local markets and relish the streetfoods. Apart from Shillong you can visit Cherrapunjee( multiple waterfalls, cave, eco park), Nongriat( known for double decker root bridge), Mawlynnong (Asia's cleanest village and single living root bridge), Shnongpdeng-Dwaki (known for crystal clear water), Krangsuri falls(close to Dawki), Mawphanlur and many more.

First of all great choice.. Meghalaya is gifted with waterfalls, caves, root bridges, crystal clear lakes and many more surprises.. I am from North East and have been to Meghalaya quite a few times.. It will be very helpful if you share the month that you are planning for the trip.. For waterfalls, monsoon/post monsoon is best as the falls are filled in full..whereas if you r planning ti explore the caves which is amazingly breathtaking and adventurous, then visit in the dry season as during the monsoon, caves are filled completely with water.. P.S. you can visit my photoblogs for Meghalaya trips and choose yours accordingly..
