Hi, I'm a solo traveler like you and have been facing this problem quite few times! Therefore I started building Safe or Not, it is like G-maps but with safety insights. You just type in the location and get women safety, transit safety etc from our crowd source data. I also added features which gives latest scams within 30 days so you don't have to leave the app and you can also ask questions. But girls I desperately need your help, I want to build the community so we can travel safer and better, so if you drop reviews of the place you have been , it will mean world to me . Here is the link www.safeornot.space Try searching for 'New Delhi' If you like the concept, please share , it is completely free and your contribution can help us travel safer!

Totally get you! Safety is always the first thing on our minds too. We usually check recent traveler reviews on apps like Google Maps, Reddit threads, or Facebook groups for women travelers—way more up-to-date than general blogs. For scams, we ask locals at hostels or cafes what's common and what to avoid. Apps like Grab (in Vietnam) help avoid overpriced cabs. And honestly, trusting your gut is key—if something feels off, walk away. Sharing live locations with a friend and keeping some emergency cash stashed also helps us feel more secure.

I'm still not comfortable travelling alone. If I had to go by myself, I wouldn't even dare take a cab—I'd probably end up walking...
