Hey Vinti, Best and most scenic route to reach Spiti Valley is via Manali. You can also do a round trip: Manali->Spiti Valley->Shimla. Best time to visit Spiti is from June -September as road via Manali remains closed in the rest of the months. Happy travelling!!!!!

Hi Viniti September to mid-October: The autumn season make Spiti absolutely colorful with lush green trees, orange leaves, aqua clean waters and whitesnow in the background, making the valley, a beauty. There are no direct bus from Delhi to Spiti Valley so you can book a bus from Delhi to Manali and then take a local transport to reach Spiti Valley.

Best Time to Visit Spiti
April to mid-May: At this time, the snow starts to melt. Mid-May to mid-July: This is the real peak season in Spiti when the valley welcome hordes of tourists who wish to get respite from city heat. here are no direct bus from Delhi to Spiti Valley so you can book a bus from Delhi to Manali and then take a local transport to reach Spiti Valley. The distance between Delhi to Spiti Valley is 741 kilometre and expected travel time by bus is 13 hours to 15 hours.

Mid May to September is the best time to visit Spiti. You can go via Shimla route or via Manali route. If don't want so much trouble, book a trip online for spiti.

Day 0–1: Start from Delhi at very late night and reach Shimla at early morning. Take a break for a couple of hours and leave for Narkanda or Rampur as long as your health permits. Otherwise, you may start early in the evening from Delhi and stay at scenic Sarahan. Then your day-1 won’t be a waste. Day 2: Leave as early as possible for Reckoning-Peo. From Wangtoo to Reckong-Peo the roads are very bad. Take some rest at Peo and leave for Nako. Nako is part of Kinnaur (not Spiti) but I hope one should include it in Spiti trip. Tented arrangements near Nako lake are nice. Day 3: After breakfast, leave for Tabo. Now the real Spiti begins via hairpin roads and barren valleys. You might face AMS here. So take necessary precaution. Tabo has many things to explore, including a monastery, its paints, Gomphas, and the silence. If possible carry tents with you and stay near Gophers in your own tent. Day 4: Leave for Dhankar. Unless it is moonlit night, staying at Dhankar is not so useful. During full-moon Dhankar is perhaps the most beautiful place I have ever been to. If you are staying at Dhankar, you can’t stay at Komic, (probably) (one of) the highest village(s) of India. If you ain’t staying at Dhankar, leave for Komic and stay there for the night. There is a thrilling bypass from Dhankar to Komic. Day 5: From Komic or Dhankar leave for Kaza. Then visit nearby Kee Monastery etc. No point of staying at Kaza, IMO. Leave for Losar and stay there. Day 6: Leave for Chandratal and spend the night there. If you are tired, skip Chandratal and spend more time on the villages of Spiti. Day 7: Leave for Manali and then Delhi. Well, in 7 days, exploring Spiti is very difficult. Also just exploring Spiti is a bit odd. One should include visiting Kalpa, Sangla, Chitkul etc on the trip as well. Else using the Shimla route is wastage of fuel. Good Luck!!

In my opinion travel June July would be the best month as the snow gets cleared and the Manali kaza road would be open. i
UpvoteCommentIf you are on a low budget.. u can take a bus from Delhi to reckong pio and then a bus from there to spiti.. and u can return by the kaza Manali bus.. so u get. a round trip.. and if you want to go leh.. then you can get down at gramphooo

Two ways to travel to Spiti.
Via Shimla Kaza is longer but open throughout the year although risky.
Through Manali Rohtang is safer but closed most of the winter.
Best time would be March/April to October/November!

May- October is the best time to visit Spiti Valley.
Take a bus from delhi to manali, one bus runs everyday from manali to kaza or you can prefer bike as well, since manali is short, so I would prefer you to take this route.

Dear fellow traveler, Mid-April to Mid-June is the best time to visit Spiti. This is the real peak season in Spiti when the valley welcome hordes of tourists who wish to get respite from city heat. Most of the road links by the mid-June get opened and thus sightseeing in and around Spiti is possible. All the hotel also now offer complete facilities. A visit to Chandra tal can also be made.
It is very hectic to reach Spiti from Delhi by road, but it would be a trip of lifetime. There are two routes to reach Kaza, the headquarter of Spiti Valley. One via Shimla and one via Manali. The Manali route is shorter and takes two days to reach with night stay at Manali. Via Shimla route: Much longer route. ROUTE ONE-one is via Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali-Lossar-Kaza
This route is bit not comfortable for them who are prone to motion and mountain sickness as this route has sharp increase in height along way. ROUTE TWO- Delhi-Chandigarh-Shimla-Narkanda-Rampur-Reckong Peo-Chango-Kaza
This route has gradual increament of height alongway .As Spiti valley is at almost height of 3800 Meter approx. , so persons prone to Acute Mountain Sickness(AMS) must go for second route.
