Last year, did this trip From Delhi, there is a direct bus at ISBT at 9:30 pm. It drops you off at Sonprayag, the last roadhead. But be prepared for a long drive, I'm talking about at least 18-20 hours in one place with respective breaks. Otherwise you can break your trip from Delhi-Rishikesh and Rishikesh-Guptkashi-Sonprayag (6:30am from Rishikesh). Cost from Delhi would be ₹850 in ordinary bus. From Sonprayag, jeep ferries to Gaurikund the base camp, for ₹50 (only local jeep allowed). From there your trek begins. For a more detailed itinerary, check out my blog.
