Ideally hampi can be covered in 2 days(1 day for town side and 1 day for hippie Island). But I would suggest to spend atleast 3 days. The town side has most attractions, but can be covered in a day if started early. The other side i.e., hippie Island has more laid-back vibes. I would suggest to stay on this side. Goan corner, manju's homestay, nargilla guesthouse, hema Guesthouse etc are some good places to stay. Vehicles can be rented easily here. Do Sunset/sunrise at monkey Temple, sunset point, matanga hill etc. Lotus temple, elephant caves, pushkarani etc. Moreover, if you want contacts for rental vehicles on hippie Island side or auto on town side let me know.

Hippie Island is closed I guess. All the properties have moved to sanapur lake side. Goan corner: 9448212621 is the best place for stay there. And this auto guy suresh(9741724927) is local and knows about all siteseeing places.
3 days will be enough in Hampi. I think you will need a scooty rented. Places to visit: Virupaksha Temple Montaga Hill Monkey Temple Elephant Stables and there are many other temples

Minimum 3 days, Hampi is full of historic monuments. Buy a tour map for helping yourself. All the places are nearby.

You need at least two days to cover Hampi. If you're travelling from Bangalore, there are no buses running during the day anyway. So you can start on a Friday night, reach Hampi on Saturday morning, spend two full days and then leave back on Sunday night. On one day you can visit the town side of Hampi which has many temples and ruins. You can book a tour auto from the bus stand which will show you all the popular places, or rent a scooter or bicycle and explore around. On other day you can visit the other side of the river, hippie island (though it's not an island really). It has more natural beauty and is a good place to relax. It has many hills with huge boulders, the monkey temple, a waterfall and a lake. P.S. If you are renting bikes, you'll probably need to book separate bikes on each side of the river. The locals usually don't allow bikes from one side to be taken to the other side. Also, if you are taking an auto to travel somewhere, always ask and fix the fare before boarding the auto. Otherwise the auto drivers charge exorbitant prices once you get down. (I was charged 200 bucks for travelling not more than a kilometre, while sharing the front seat with the auto driver).
