Kolkata is a really beautiful place, you can go to start the day with watching the sun rise at Howrah bridge, do not forget to use the yellow taxi! if you wanna go shopping, new market is pretty good. go to aminia restaurant in new market which has its roots from the 19th century. there are plenty of old theater's that can give you the vintage experience. flurrys has the best deserts. for the all famous kolkata sweets, go to balram malik's sweet shop, I went to the one in park street. kusum rolls is the best rolls available in all of kolkata and every local is well aware of the place.

I think you are coming from outside of Kolkata. then I have a suggest for you if you really want to come & go to Darjeeling from Kolkata then you can go for Kolkata zoo , Victoria Palace, Indian Museum and ScienCecity, NicoPark. you can take that side it's really awesome and after that you can take train to here to Siliguri then after that you can take you can give the thought and that is the best and memorable moment for you and that that is the best part because I can get 4 to 6 hour and it's really a suitable it can get around 800 rupees and Kolkata to Siliguri around 700 to 800 AC class. you no need to hire any car because that can show you all sites. but starting time is only as morning is a one time in a day. but that is mind it in everyday fluctuate the hotel prices.

Hi Sanchaari, It's a nice idea to see the mountains ranges of Kanchenjunga from Darjeeling (there are other places in the northern West Bengal to get a much better view of the Kanchenjunga range though). Darjeeling is a nice quaint place that offers many wonderful memories and to name a few, one can get onto to the UNESCO heritage Toy train (although there is toy train ride in Shimla and Ooty as well, but the one in Darjeeling is thrilling compared to the other due to its heritage, many a tunnel and to see how this caterpillar have made its way into the life of the locals), from Darjeeling one can visit neer by attraction of Ghoom, Mirik, Kalimpong, Kurseong, etc. The list can go on endless. In order to reach Darjeeling, one need to be at Kolkata (unless anyone taking a direct flight to Bagdogra airport in Siliguri). Kolkata being the largest city in the eastern India, host ample if monuments and historical buildings that echoes the long lost heritage of Kolkata. One can visit places of interest as Victoria memorial hall, take a lazy tram ride in the heart of the city, take a tour of the Indian museum or grandeur of the marble palace, etc. If time permits, then one can look further south of Bengal to visit the pristine sea beaches which is just 4 hours drive from Kolkata. You can let me know, if you need a detailed itinerary of this vist. I will be more than happy to help you macha 🙂

Thanks macha... will come back to you..., before start of my trip
Its great to visit Darjeeling during the months of May-June. For budget trip, take any cab from New Jalpaiguri railway station. U may also take flight to Bagdogra and then take a cab to Darjeeling. Mall road is the most vibrant place in Darjeeling. so u may take hotel over there. while in Darjeeling, keep one day for sightseeing, the next day for visiting kalimpong. U can also take the heritage toy train ride in Darjeeling.
