Take a flight or train up to New Delhi. And from there you can reach Shimla via volvo.

If you are passionate about low budget travelling... u can board a train from madgoan to Delhi and buses are frequently available to all parts of Himachal Pradesh from Delhi.. otherwise a flight to Delhi would do

Himachal Pradesh is great place to explore. If you love long drives or rides you can go by car or bike. It's around 2.5k km from goa. Even train is an good option.

First you have to reach Delhi by flight/train depending on your budget. Then you can take Volvo/normal bus to Himachal Pradesh from ISBT Delhi.

I would suggest to take a train or flight till delhi/chandigarh and take a taxi from there. As you are a photographer you can stop where ever you want to take pics. which is only possible when you are in a taxi not in a bus.
