You can plan to visit & explore Hampi in October, as this is Dusherra month it will be festive there. Minimum three days are required to explore Hampi fully. Get a hotel near Virupaksha temple in the old Hampi. You can also plan to stay across the river Tungabhadra for one day to explore the other side. For any trip, plan accordingly to your budget. Fix the budget first then accordingly you can choose your itinerary and hotels etc.

Take a flight or train to Bangalore and hampi can be visited by as a day trip or you can stay there also

Hi Sharvarish, You can fly upto Hyderabad or Bangalore and travel the rest using a rental car.
