Do not combine Leh and Spiti. Spiti by itself needs around 6-7 days. As for Leh, there are enough rentals available in the town itself, ensure you get a relatively new motorcycle. If you still want to visit Spiti, you need to head to Manali from where you can either rent a motorcycle or a taxi. Motorcycles/taxis from Leh aren't allowed in Himachal Pradesh. 1. Itinerary for Leh: Leh (2 nights) - Nubra valley (2 nights) - Panamik (optional) - Pangong (1 night) - Leh - Tso Moriri (optional) - Leh Recommending 2 nights in Leh so you get acclimatized to the height considering you will be directly flying there. Also you need a day to apply for ILP and the other day for local sighseeing. You can stay in Nubra for 1 night only if you don't plan on visiting Thang (LOC). But it may not be enough if you are unfortunate to encounter landslides on the way, hence 2 nights. 2. You need a BSNL postpaid sim card in Leh, none of the others work. You can buy the sim card in Delhi, usually will take a day to get activated.
