For traveling solo.. U are required to explore those places which are more safe.. I recommend you to travel Bhutan.. It's very safe for everyone as people there are quite helpful n honest... It's also easy for you to reach Bhutan via border crossing.. First u have board a train/bus from Kolkata to Alipurduar then take bus from there to Jaigaon which is border Town..

If you intend to travel within india...you shud look for places closer to kolkata to build confidence as a first time solo traveller i.e.places in north east india shud be fine...darjeeling,sikkim.etc. For outside india you should think abt Bhutan as an option.

As you belong from Kolkata, then you can visit Daringbadi (Odisha)..250km away from Bhubaneswar and 130km away from Brahapur. Actually I'm also belong from Howrah and I just returned yesterday from Daringbadi. If you want to go solo, then it would be a great experience for you. No mobile network working there except Jio, BSNL, Airtel. Cost will be 11000/- for a solo Traveller. You can think about it, or you can go for Darjeeling. cost will almost same. Be a Responsible Traveller 😊

Hey Stuti, Great that you are planning to travel Solo. The easiest to start from Kolkata would be either Darjeeling or Puri in my view. From Puri you can visit chilika Lake, Konark Temple and another train ride to Visakhapatnam if you feel like.

I have recently done my 2 solo trips one to Rajasthan 1. Jaisalmer 2 jodhpur 3. udaipur 4. Ajmer 5. Pushkar one to Himachal 1.kasol 2.tosh village 3.kheerganga 4.manekaran you can also explore uttarakhand as this time is good to go. I want to give you some tips if you're traveling solo which I have experienced. 1. first make a blue print of they places you want to visit in a book day wise. 2. try to take the trains and public transport which saves your pocket. 3. take hostels which is economical 4.if you're traveling for 6/7 days make a plan for the next day in the night so that you don't need to waste time the next day. 5.enquire the places from the local or the hostel people so that you no need to take tension to search 6. try to take less luggage and carry a lock . 7.carry hiking or running shoes with you so that you can walk distances 8.carry medicines for cold, fever and constipation 9.try to restrain from tasting new food since you have to take care of yourself 10. carry identity cards which are not original 11.carry money bag, water bottle, hat and comfortable socks 12.carry money in denominations, so that it's easy to barter 13.maintain a log book of the expenses and places you visited, keep on marking so that you can keep track 14. check the timings of the transport prior and it's good if you find people sharing vehicles while you're traveling to some places in the city, since it would help you share the money. 15. it's good if you're carrying mobile stand or camera stand to click your pictures . hope it helps!!
