If its connection flight there is chace of refund from the airlines. but these tickets are idviduals bookings. chances wil be less of refund from airlines. agency can may be give compensation for same. Also if the scheduled departure is more than last boarding time there is chance of giving a complaint getting you compensation from airlines. even if booked through sgency airlines have resposibility to intimate the passenger through mail as well as message the individual about change of departure in advance.

Raise a complaint with your travel agent and ask for a refund or ask him to rebook your tickets for another day.By the way your flight can only go few minutes before scheduled departure time (not hours before). So if thats the case, you can even raise concern with airlines.

You can claim your amount by calling airlines, ask them to show email or mobile where they intimated. But you are saying it's by agent, so agent is responsible for the loss. Ask him to pay compensation.

Lodge a complain for agent and if two mentioned flights weren't operated by same airline or were connecting flights you cannot complain airline. Generally agents do mention clients contact sources for booking so any changes can be auto informed.
