I just participated in #tenphotos contest but after uploading the pics, I find it is posted in "My Trips" and I've nothing to show that I participated in this contest.

I think you have to use the hashtag tenphotos.. and that is enough

The trip does appear in my trips, just ensure you are adding whatever hashtag tripoto wants the participants to use mostly in the title, that way they understand you are participating and pick up your entry.
