You should stay near to beach, as it is heavily raining in goa. so, good to explore the beaches when it stops for few hours.

I recommend you try staying at Hostels. They're very reasonable and the experience you will have meeting other travellers will be unwordly. I recommend 1. Jungle by the hostel crowd 2. Forklore 3. Aerostel Book them through according to your planning.
Roadhouse hostel is very nice and apt for solo traveller
