Hello Mohan... Ladakh passes are opened by mid May and still witnessing a large of globetrotters around the world. You can visit till mid October. As per the weather reports and information from Ladakh travellers, it is safe and chill now.. You can start now. My suggestions are try to have handful of 8 to 12 days if you are first time traveller to Ladakh. Try making the plans beforehand and get the Rohtang pass permit. Ascend gradually and avoid AMS. This will make you keep yourself healthy. Here is a short iternary idea for you. Day 1: Manali to Jispa Day 2: Jispa to Leh ( Easily doable) Day 3: Visit in Leh ( Monasteries, Art museum, Shanti Stupa, LADAKH Market, Shey and Leh Palace, Roncho School) All this can be done in a single day.. Sunset will be around 7.45 PM. Day light lasts longer in high altitude Day 4: Continue with your leh explorations. Arrange the Permits Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley 124 and Visit Hinder Sand dunes ( You will go through Khardung La) If bike JK registration needed. Day 6 : Visit Thang ( India's Border where POK will be at 2 KMS) or move to Pangong Tso lake Via Shyok Valley ( Check the river water levels with locals before) Day 7: If reached Pangong .. Explore it.. lot of offbeats places are there .. Day 8 : Drive back to Leh via Tanglang la and Take rest. Day 9 : Fuel up your Vehicles’ and move to Tsomoriri (optional) Day 10: Drive to Sarchu via Tsokar or Visit Handle (if valid permits) Day 11: Return to Manali if reached Sarchu/ Drive to Jispa Day 12: Your buffer day For Accommodation, it is easier to get in Leh either via booking/direct. Hotel Leh Chen provides good view of Shanti Stupa and Landscapes. You can get your place at one of the cafes near to market road. Hope, you travel and enjoy the Paradise. Keep travelling :)

October to February is the winter season and is considered to be the best time to visit Manali if you like the cold and January is best to enjoy the chilly pleasure of fresh snowfall . The temperature drops down below zero degrees Celsius. Summer in the region starts in the month of March and lasts till June
