In Pondicherry you can find accomodations near Anna Salai. there is a hotel named as Abirami residency which has great service and has pretty nice rooms to stay. All the places in Pondicherry are within 1-3 kms like French colony, rock beach, serenity beach. You can opt for local autos. Only paradise beach is a little too far and there is a ferry that takes you to paradise beach. Although Pondicherry has really good guest houses at French colony. For food and drinks you can plan for seagulls and ten 11 pluse lounge. You may not find big pubs out there. But if you are in search of alcohol there are lounges that serves it like LB2 lounge. For good food you can plan for Madame Shante, cafe xtasi, le Chateau, La villa and Villa Helena. Pondicherry is a place where you will find best pizzas. I would really suggest you to have pizza at Auto pizza, which is a small restaurant but serves some really amazing pizzas. Also there is a restaurant at Serenity beach named as Theevu plage which has a great seating area with the sea view. You can visit there if you are planning to go to Serenity beach.
