I am not that familiarized with the region, but 6months are way too long and yes i think you can explore it within 4 to 6months for sure Best Of luck Happy Traveling !!!!

I meant how cold can it get in the winter months in Laddakh. is a homestay possible in some remote village and not Leh in Laddakh during winter. does it snow in December and January and is it possible to travel at all. can someone help me there?
