May infact is a good time to visit Kashmir Valley as it's summer in Kashmir and you need not worry about road blocks, non availability of accommodation and transport. Temp will be high in April and it's moderately high in May too compared to other months. But if you really want to experience Kashmir in its full glory either make a trip in September Or October as it is fully green post monsoon and water crossings and rivers will be full or else Post Jan in Winter.

Kashmir is a good idea throughout the year! From Gulmarg, Aru valley, Srinagar, Yusmarg, Tarsar Marsar, to Pahalgam its just the most fulfilling getaway ever! I hope you go for it without hesitation. :)

Yes, an absolute yes to travel in may.. it's amazing because the snow will be set and you will get a clear view because the season is summer.

Weather is good but due war hysteria this may not be the year to visit Srinagar.
instead try lahual spiti or sikkim
