The best time to visit Ladakh is from May to September. You can visit but you will have to face few difficulties - Manali-Ley roads may go worse. - In Khardungla and Chnagla you can see snow - In Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri tent camps will be closed. In October and November the temperature drops drastically and it is too windy. Most of the camps get closed in October and only few hotels are working. https://www.funstay.in/ladakh-tour-packages You can check out this link. So, if you plan a road trip to visit Leh in October, just make sure you reach there in early October. Because in late October, you might not find any hotel to stay.Just get latest updates about the road from local people to going Khardung La, Pangong Tso, if you face any road related problem cause After mid of october Road's are thickly covered with snow, and military often closes the road to clear the snow.but once again i want to say that it All be happen after mid of October but in early october you can perfectly enjoy your road trip. As the month of October sets in the whole place is filled with a new life again. This is one of the best periods for visiting the stunning and beautiful areas of Leh and Ladakh as the place is permeated in brilliant hues. From Srinagar-Leh and also Manali-Leh all the roads are brimming with people. Snowfall begins and cold wave clears over the zones of high elevations. Camps nearby the lakes too are closed. The temperature during this time remains Maximum 14° C, Minimum -1° C. Those traveling by roads then the Manali-Leh roadway are open however you will run over snow secured streets and the majority of the visitor houses, dhabas and so on are closed during this period. You can also take flight according to your demands. The prices will be a bit cheaper than its usual cost. Another interesting thing that you can enjoy if you are visiting at this time is the Diskit Festival which is held in this month. Visit the monasteries and also pass through Khardungla Pass and then the majestic Nubra Valley. Explore the beauty of this region and don’t miss a chance to try the double-humped camel ride in Ladakh.
