Hampi is divided in two parts because of a river. Its difficult to cover both sides. There are good hostels and rooms are available.

Hire a bicycle or a moped for 150 bucks for the duration of your stay. You can start with a hike to Hanuman Temple that is Kumara Pravatha by crossing the river after that visit Krishna Temple, and Virupaksha Temple. Visit the hippie cafes in hampi for lunch to name a few Laughing Buddha cafe or Hema Guest House cafe. In the evening visit the Sun Set point. Next day early morning hike to Mathunga Hills for Sun rise view this is the best view you will ever get. After that visit Vittala Temple, Lotus Mahal, Achyutaraya Temple, Soolai Bazaar, Try Coraocle Ride on Tungbhadra river, Rishyamuka and Anjaneya Hill via Chakratirtha and continue towards Anegondi, Pampapati temple. Guard's Quarters, Hazara Rama Temple, Elephant's Stables, King's Audience Hall, King's Palace, Throne Platform, Octagonal Water Pavillion, Octagonal Bath, Chandrasekhara Temple, etc. are few optional places which you can try to visit if time permits.

Do stay in hippie Island side

Hampi is a beautiful place. There are places like ChitraDurga etc but my suggestions would be keep both days entirely for Hampi. Try to book a place in the hippie island if you are going with your friends, or else the Anegundi is also a place you can stay. if you like walking, believe me, the next day entirely will be spent on finding ruins and temple of Hampi. There are like tens of temples, you keep on walking and keep on finding new temple. Enjoy the dinner at one of the restaurants at the island and do go and lookout for the sunset at the Hanuman temple. you can also go through my blog https://liverpoolfanboy.wordpress.com/2018/06/12/hampi-weekend/

I'll suggest to stay on Pilgrimage side of Hampi or Hampi bazar area. On first day, you can walk around Virupaksha temple area and explore Hemkuta Hill, Krishna Temple, Achutraya Temple, Kadalekalu Ganesha, Sasivekalu Ganesha, Monolithic bull etc at end go to Matanga Hill to conclude your day with beautiful sunset. At end of the day you'll end up walking 8kms without even noticed. Next day hire a bicycle and go to Royal center, Lotus Mahal, Elephant Stable, Laxmi Narsinha Temple, Queen's bath. have lunch at Kamalapur village and head towards Vitthala temple. From there you can go to King's balance and come to Virupaksha temple; for that you need to do a hike and bike on few 200-300 meter long hill. It's not tough at all. Or otherwise you can pedal the same way back to Virupksha temple. You can easily get bicycle on rent in Hampi bazar area for 100 rs a day. For any further information feel free to contact! Best luck for your adventure! P.s. I've not covered other side of trip in above route.
