U can book cab from Airport to neral or else u can take train from dadar to neral.. from neral u can take toy train to matheran.. thr r no branded hotel as such.... u can check The BYKE Heritage

Hi Rajshree, Matheran is perhaps the Ideal place to be in December. Rather then activities, you will be solely in love within Matheran. I would suggest you to stay in Usha Ascot. Happy Travelling !

The closest railhead to Matheran is in Neral (21 kilometres). You can get on the Deccan Express from Mumbai or the Sahyadri Express from Pune; both ply every day. From Neral you will have to go to Matheran by road, which is a 30-minute journey. Many local trains on the Mumbai-Karjat route also stop at Neral. If the above is dicey, contact any travel agency and hire a cab.
