First of all talk with your car company and list down the service centers.
2. Carry toolkits, meds, proper insurance.
3. Plan every state with required number of days and the route
4. Always keep 1-2 days buffer for every state.
5. Do not rush. It's not safe to drive through some states at night.
6. Staying in car will save a lot of money (if you're on a Budget)
7. Always ask the locals about your journey ahead, truck drivers are the best to talk with and get information from.
