Goa is basically divided into two parts North & South Goa. North goa is usually more crowded, happening, commercialized while South goa is more towards nature, peace & tranquility. It depends on your taste where you want to go. Anjuna, baga, calangute, arambol are some good places to visit in north side. South goa has more exotic & picturesque beaches such as cabode rama, colo, agonda, palolem, galgibaga etc. And also if you are fond of monuments, forts & churches etc then you will find this mostly in north side. For stay its no issue as you will plenty of options everywhere. Just look up through booking.com or goibibo etc.

I would suggest you to go. NORTH Goa - Baga beach, Aguada fort, Chapora fort, Candolim beach, Dona Paula, Lower Aguada (very beautiful beach) South Goa - Colva, old Goa etc. Better to stay at Panajim

Better to stay in north as majority of tourist spots are in the north of Goa. Since with family , they generally prefer going to major known spots. You can also check south Goa side if you 0refer to get little calmness.

Hey Rahul, THINGS TO DO IN GOA : 1)North Goa Beaches: Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, 2)South Goa Beaches: Colva, Butterfly, Palolem, Agonda, Netravali Lake 3)Fort Aguada ( Movie 'Dil Chahta Hai' was shooted here ) 4)Dudhsagar waterfalls ( 2.5 hours, 60km from Goa) 5)Activities: Scuba, Parasailing, Mandovi River cruise ( Casino and party), A boat ride for Dolphin watching 6)We enjoyed all nights in Goa by drinking and sitting on the beach and returning to a hotel room in morning 4-5AM. Then the next day started wandering again from 1 PM and at last in the evening back to the beach. Hope this would help you.
