Hi Aishwariya. Yercaud is an idyllic place and will make for a beautiful trip. Here are a few places you can visit: Yercaud Lake Though this is not offbeat, you must make a stop at Yercaud Lake. With sweeping views of hills and lush green lawns, the idyllic lake is the perfect place to spend a few relaxed hours. Make sure you take a boat ride to soak in the serene surroundings. You can also take a trip to Deer Park, which is near the lake, to spot deers, peacocks, hamsters and other lovely animals. Bear's Cave If caving is more your thing, head to Bear’s cave. These caves were believed to house bears but don’t worry, those bears seem to have moved long ago! Kiliyur Waterfall Another place you’ll probably fall in love with is the Kiliyur waterfall. It’s set amidst lush green plantations and has a drop of 300 ft. Sit before the waterfall to feel the cool spray of water on your face. It’s a bit of a slippery hike to get there so make sure you’re wearing shoes that have good surface grip. Ladies' Seat The Ladies’ Seat is a good place to witness a panoramic view of the Shevaroy hills as well as the town of Salem. Get some hot tea and bhajjis that are available nearby and perch on a rock formation to enjoy them while treating your eyes to the scenery in front. Loop Road Make sure you go for a drive on Loop Road that spans across 32 kilometres. The road is smooth, making it perfect for a drive and is studded by coffee plantations on both sides. It goes through vistas of glorious hills and valleys and you can stop by roadside eateries for some local cuisine if you get hungry. Now let’s get down to the best eateries there. Sweet Rascal Head to Sweet Rascal for its colonial style bungalow and romantic ambience. The menu is extensive and the food is great but you must call and make reservations beforehand. The Altitude Kitchen and Bar The Altitude kitchen and bar overlooks the Shevaroy hills. It is open air and perfectly dreamy. You should go there at night for some stunning views. Karuppaiya Chettinadu restaurant Karuppaiya Chettinadu restaurant serves some of the best chicken fry around. You’ll definitely call for a second helping. Hope this helps and have a wonderful trip!
