Hi it is good to explore it your own according to your budget. I went there multiple times and there are multiple affordable hotels near Ganga which would take 800-1000 rupees per night only. thanks

You could try staying at Zostel, Rishikesh. They offer dorms with bunkbeds to give you a hostel experience, along with private rooms. They also have a common room with various board games and comfortable low lying sitting. It has been designed beautifully and costs barely 500/- per night (exclusive of food).
