Hey , there. I have been to Rishikesh few days ago at Holi and I stayed at Wayfarhers hostel for 300 .It's in Tapovan , near laxman Jhula . so from there it is walking distance to every other places of interest.
check out Beatles Ashram also. and don't miss the Ganga Aarti in the evening.

visit nearby waterfalls and you can visit Neelkanth temple. you can also visit narendra nagar and enjoy the aerial view of rishikesh. And for amenities , move towards hostels.

You can visit Neelkanth Mahadev. Beatles Ashram and also visit the Devprayag it is only 60km from Rishikesh. There is a Sangam of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda which form Ganga. You can stay there in hostels. Zostel can be good option.
