Hi Gaurav, if you are the one who is interested in beaches, then following are few interesting places you can head up to: 1) Puri: the beautiful puri beach along with Lord Jagannath temple. Apart from this there are many other local places to visit too. Konark temple, Gundicha temple, Chilika lake, Nandan Kanan ban, etc. Puri beach is best during night when the market is set up alongside the beach 2) Kanyakumari: Scenic beauty of the place is amazing. Beach looks super awesome during sunrise and sunset. 3) Rameshwaram: The silent beach is really great with a few amazing local places. 4) Chennai: Golden beach is the main attraction point of the city. 5) Goa: Vagator beach being the best one and not to miss beach.

Hi Gaurav, India is vast with large and pleasant diversity. Depending on one's interest and choice one can select between mountains, sea beaches, natural reserves, historical place, cultural place, etc. As I'm not sure about your choice and interest. And also don't know from where you will be traveling I can only suggest based on safety during travel, budget and ease of moving around. December being winter time, places like Shimla/ Manali, etc will snow and should be little low on cost. However moving around might be challenging due to road closure if there is heavy snowfall. On the other hand traveling to beaches will be relaxing with family, but might turn out to be a luxury travel looking at the traveling expenses for a budget travelers as this will be super peak season for sea beaches. And same is applicable with some added adventure on for any national park safaris. Historical and cultural place remain safe to travel with family and so is cultural/food travel through out the year and budget depend on the particular location. However, if you want all the above together and want to travel light on pocket, then anyone can look towards East of India @ West Bengal. I'm not saying this because I hail from West Bengal, but WB indeed boost of offering Snow capped mountains to pristine sea beaches to cultural and historical importance center. and all of these on a budget and safe for a family. I'm not sure, from where you will be traveling from and how many days you are looking at, so it's little difficult to suggest a particular place for you currently. But in any case if you want all of the above together and interested in West Bengal, then you can contact me by messaging me directly on Tripoto or email me at offthegrid4544@gmail.com or buzz me at 8420836830 to get to know some off beat locations of West Bengal from where you can sight the mighty Kanchenjunga and/ or relax in offbeat pristine seabeach or may be a Jeep Safari through the dense forest of Elephants and other wildlife. besides what Kolkata is famous for as foodies delighted and cultural and heritage city for travellers during December with much activities at a budget while safe. Thank you reading the long response. Happy traveling. Cheers!
