You can visit Rock Beach and take a walk along the beach road. Also, don't miss Paradise Island - it's very beautiful. Mahabalipuram is near to Pondicherry so you can cover that as well. In addition to this, one simply cannot miss visiting Auroville - extremely beautiful and peaceful.

Do visit auroville for its splendid and art based architecture. there community is quite different and the entire place has a really different lifestyle. even the aurobindo ashram has been quite beautifully made.

Shri Aurobindo Ashram, Promenade Beach, Paradise Beach, the Auroville township, and the ruins of Arikamedu are some of the must see places in Pondicherry. Also, don't forget to roam around the streets of Pondicherry and have a meal at the local cafes.

Matrimandir( The globe in auroville) 4. swaram.(An exhibition of various muscial instuments, made or rock, wood,sand,drums, strings etc) where one get to play the instuments. 5. Youth centre(A small area in auroville, where french youth produce and display various gadgets and stuff , recreated from old materials) 6. Sadhana forest 7. Auroville 8. Marakanam salt field 9. Auro beach 10. Aaranya forest(Manmade). 11.Auroville bakery(Best food is here! Iwould suggest) 12. white town 13. Light house 14.A wall painting in petit street. 15. Gandhi statue(the tallest statue in india). 16. dune beach 17.Churches in white town. I studied in Pondicherry for the past two years. So, these are the main places to visit. The white town and and Auroville are main tourist attraction where the French lives.You get to eat really good food in Pondi. The wood fried pizzas, the aurovie bakery, the filter cofee near auro beach are all just amazing, plus pubs and bars. Ladies get to drink free. Pubs and bars specifically, the story tellers bar, the PY cafelove , LB2 longue( all 3 in white town area) , provides free drinks for ladies . They acutually host the "Ladies night out", during a specific day all weeks, not exceeding some 3 hours. Ladies get to drink free, certain brands! Amazing right?
