Hi sandeep!! as a beginner it's always advisable to do short treks to get to know how your body responds to altitude, hiking and extreme weather conditions. If you are planning on a short trek you wouldn't need much of the gears available in the market. to begin with you will need * a good pair of shoes, like sports or outdoors shoes with a good insole and sole for your comfort. don't forget to pick up the perfect size * the most understated thing ull need in a trek is mosquito repellent or an insect repellent. trust me you can survive your trek without any fancy gears but without this u'll suffer like anything. * good pair of cargo pants with breathable jackets * trekking pole *sleeping bag *water sack *torch *knives which will come in handy and many other things which you can find in a dicathlon store near you. PS. always be mindful of carrying things you need as you would have to carry that extra weight along the trek. let us know if you are planing for a bigger trek so that we can help you out with the things u'll need. cheers. njoyyy ur trek. follow us for more insights n details

Buddy you need to choose whether you wanna do jungle trek or a snow mountain trek. But as you've mentioned in your question that it's for a beginner; my suggestion would be try to do jungle treks first.. There are only few basic things you need to carry 1- Really "Good Shoes which are not slippery" (Brand doesn't matter at all) 2- "Cap/Hat" whichever you prefer (But this is must) 3- "Full sleeves Shirt and trouser" (Not bright in colour) 4- "Trekking bag or Even backpack" is fine but try to carry less and only important things.. 5- Small torch 6- Water container (reusable) minimum 3 ltrs 7- Electral or Glucon Powder to avoid dehydration 8- Pain balm/spray in case of cramps n all 9- LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST "WILLPOWER" I don't think anybody will cost more.. Moral: Nothing new has to be bought if you are at beginner level, try to do couple of good jungle treks in a month, slowly your body gets adjustable to the capacity and then you can increase level of trek after 5-6 treks..

Visit the Decathlon website for the cheapest reliable sports gear. If you live in Kolkata, Bangalore or Delhi then you can visit the store there. If you are lucky then you might get End of Season sale. Its better if you visit the store as almost everything is at 50% off plus the staff there really helps you through your list. I got trekking shoes at Rs.1000 which lasted for more than 2 years. Apart from that I have been using all the gear I bought from Decathlon for more than a year without complain.

That's enturely depending at what altitude you are trekking to. In case of lower altitude upto 3000 mtr like Singalila trek, you don't have to worry much about the requirements. But for higher places you may need to care. But as a beginner you should attempt a lower altitude first. You can start with Singalila National park Darjeeling. As of necessary things you should carry following things: 1. A wind Cheater 2. Nylon or woollen Track pants make easy to trek through stony terrain 3. personal toiletries 4.A hand sanitizer 5.personal medicines..Some Antacid and Crocin tablets. 6.Zeoline for the drinking water 7.Dry food if you want to keep 8.lip balm 9.a torch Hardcore gears are not that much of requirement.Still you can manage these things 1.A rucksack 2.a good pair of shoes...this is important as the cheap ones tend to give up due to the roughness of the stony surface 3. certainly atleast 3 pairs of socks. These are the basic things you can carry for lower altitude treks. But for higher you have to carry a sleeping bag....That depends on whether you are going on your own or through any organisation...In case of organised ones the organisers generally provide sleeping bags and tents.....Or you have to rent these items.....But if you are alone , then you must carry your own sleeping bag and tent...And those would cost you a bit. I hope this may satisfy your querries. Best of luck for your first trek...
