Most roads to Ladakh, even in the end of April, usually remain closed due to heavy snow. Even though you can reach Ladakh by air, you may not be able to visit some of the most famous attractions in and around Ladakh due to unfriendly weather conditions. However, a staycation won't be out of question.

Hi Sheetal, The best time to visit Ladakh would be around June-Aug. By mid-June, the snow starts melting and you can watch all the beautiful lakes in the area. Still, let me divide the months based on conditions in Ladakh: April - May: Snowfall stops, summers begin. Some snowfall-affected roads may still be closed. Max temp:15 degrees, Min temp: -1 degrees June-Aug: Peak tourist season. Expect great sights and heavy crowd. Max temp: 25 degrees, Min temp: 10 degrees Sep-Oct: Snowfall begins, cool waves in the region. Max temp: 14 degrees, Min temp: -1 degrees Nov-Jan: Freezing temperatures, only accessible through flights. Treks and some sights open for tourists. Max temp: 7 degrees, Min temp: -14 degrees Feb-Mar: Likely water and electricity shortage, gradual decline in temperatures.Various monastery festivals are held in this time. Max temp: 5 degrees, Min temp: -11 degrees. Hope this helps. :)

You can not do the complete circuit and also you wont be able to reach many places because of road closure. The best month would be September. But you can make a trip anytime between June to Mid Oct once the roads from Manali and Srinagar opens for public traffic.

With the coming of the month of April in your calendar summer sets in the lives of the people of Ladakh. This month also marks the beginning of the tourists’ seasons and people flock here in great numbers. The temperature is Maximum 15° C, Minimum -1° C at this time. During April heavy snowfall stops and the summertime takes over this whole place. One can see all the tourist places, hotels, homestays, and guest are welcomed with opened hands. If you are visiting Ladakh during this time then opt for flights as all the roads and the passes do not open at this time. The weather, however, is still not sunny and warm as the usual summers. Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is the main airport of the area. The flights are directly connected from Delhi, Srinagar, and Jammu by the flights run by Air India, Go Air and Jet Airways. By late April, the lakes Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri start to melt, revealing the excellent hues and spectacular sights. During this time Leh has very beautiful weather with a clear sky but it is advisable to wear warm clothes for the adventure junkies as the sun can be a bit more dangerous during this time. You can visit the monasteries and the stupas which are the best places here.
